Lone working in ARK
Lone workers are those who work by themselves without close or direct supervision. The Health & Safety executive has published guidance for employers where their team works alone, here - this also applies when members work at home (here).
Lone working without supervision
Its important to keep in touch with lone workers, and ensure regular contact to make sure they are healthy and safe. For anyone working in ARK;
Remember to Sign in/out on the iPad by the entrance way so that you’ve logged you’re in the building
Where a member works with a larger team, let someone else in your team know that you’re working alone and to tell them when you’ve leaving. We’ve set up whatsapps groups for individual offices, or you can use existing channels you’ve already agreed with your team.
Where a member would work by themselves anyway (e.g. a freelancer), please do let the ARK team know (Nick, Gav & Phil) - you can either message us directly using our usual email / whatsapp channels, or you can use the main whatsapp group to let others know.
If you are working early or late in ARK when fewer workers are around, and you experience any violence or threat of violence, please do let us know (info@arkcoworking.com, or call 02032904002). If it is an emergency, please call 999.
Stress & mental health
We’re aware that the effects of working alone can be a strain on all our mental health and wellbeing - if you feel like this is affecting you please do let us or someone else you work with know.
ARK members can book a 1:1 session with our spARK coach should they like to discuss any specific areas of business support they need. We would urge you to reach out to us at any time if you are finding that you are struggling to work alone. You can book any sessions at www.arkcoworking.com/online.
